Have you been to the social site Pinterest?
If you haven’t been there, it is a site where the members share photographs of the things that they love, or are involved with, in life. The members open “pin-boards” (topics of interest) such as food, animals, places, gifts, etc…, with a lot of focus on fashion and arts.
I honestly have never seen a site before where you can learn so much about a person (or a business) through photographs. A photograph really does speak 1,000 words!

I nearly forgot to mention, members can also post comments on pinned photographs, making it the social site that it is.

We are changing our website, switching to a storefront. Sreamlining for 2012. Our thinking is why have both a blog and a website? There’s a lot of writing and reading going on, with current product information here, at our blog.
Over the next several weeks I am going to copy photos from our current website over to our blog, to ensure what people enjoy now on the website, will still be available (via the blog).
At the same time, I am going to throw in some of Annie’s Goat Hill original photos. I hope you enjoy looking back and seeing some “faces” and stories you haven’t seen in a while.
In this photo, to the left is a doe that we currently own that is wild, but one great mother. The middle doe is Sarah, one of our favorite grown up gals. She is vocal. Always “maaa’s” up to us at the house when she sees us outdoors.

We have a lot to be thankful for in life. Today we want to extend our appreciation to our customers. You come through our virtual door often, with special notes (email) in your hands, telling us how much your love our products and service. Many times you tell us, “Throw in the shopping bag what you want to. I love everything you have.” We are honored.

We have barely scratched the surface.
A few days ago I was standing in a music store talking “shop” (small business) with the co-owner. As she began to tell me about natural-based products that a very large company sells I told her about our soaps and lotions. I saw the look come into her eyes. We (my husband and I) are accustomed to seeing THE LOOK. We decipher THE LOOK as: “I am not sure what she is talking about. How can soap be made from milk? And does she really make it herself? I just don’t know…”. We then explain what we do, where our products come from, and that our products are made-from-scratch, handmade. The look doesn’t go away. We bring out the business cards, the samples, and nudge people to give our products a try.
You know, the surface has not even been scratched.
If you are in support of small business, local business, farmers, and if you support the continued availability of natural, and nearly natural, products to each and every consumer, then we would appreciate your goat milk soap shout-outs!

The holiday season has arrived!
Don’t you just love this time if year? Everything smells so good, looks so pretty, and folks in general seem to be in great spirit!
In light of the season, we discounted our Pumpkin Caramel fragranced goat milk soap in our store to $3.50 a bar.
A customer recently told me they didn’t want to use their bar of Pumpkin Caramel because it made their bathroom smell so good! With the discount, folks like her can more easily double up on their soap purchases and place a bar in all of their rooms (kitchen, bath, or even another room where they might want to enjoy the seasonal scent).
