I am working on updating soap fragrances. The curing racks are filling back up. It is growing into just the spark I was looking for.
One new soap on the curing rack is patchouli (different from the patchouli/vanilla/musk blend that I already carry).
I will also be offering lemongrass goat milk soap (without poppyseeds).
I had a time of it with the honey oatmeal soap (hence two batches on the curing rack), the most popular soap I have carried for 7 years! I heated the honey in the microwave. It hardened. I thought it would soften back up in the soap batch. It did not completely. In fact, I burned up one of the stick blenders while trying to smooth out the batch of soap, and I ended up with a batch of soap that contained sections with seeping honey in it. Not very appealing, huh? Quite humorous though. On the flip side, and a positive one at that, I have a batch of honey oatmeal soap now cut into perfect sample sizes for new customers (or those that want to try it).
I will be announcing more essential oil blends, new all natural soaps, during the next few weeks.
Happy Monday!
Darn it!
Guess those things happen.
And a Happy Monday to YOU!
You are absolutely amazing! I wish I lived closer and could come over and watch you do that. And hold a baby goat:)
Deb
You could hold our little favorite. Ha.
Hi Mary! Remember me?
Oh, I am such a bad friend. So so so so so so bad.
I think of you so often, but my blog time has dwindled away now that the sun is out and it’s warm again. I hope you forgive me my sweet lady because I am so much happier now that the cold and gloom is gone. Still… I miss my Mary!
Goat Milk inventory is still okay, but I must place an order soon. Would you throw together a ten-pack of your favorites for me (no special wrappers or boxes are necessary) and email me the total? I’d love to try the lemongrass (no seeds) and the honey oatmeal and patchouli and whatever else you think is a must have at Casa Hice.
Hope to hear from you soon! Love you girl…

Hi there, Alix. My blog time has been rather short lately as well. We do what we can do. I do not think anything of it.
I will send an email to you with a total. If you can wait a week or so, I might be able to squeeze in patchouli (if it cures enough). The lemongrass, no seeds, will need to be on a future order since I haven’t made it yet. I’ll put together some “must haves” for you.
Mary,
We did the honey/oatmeal goat milk soap when we used to make soap here! Love the smell of Patchouli.
Amy
Amy, I have loved patchouli for a long time, even when I was a teenager. Back then I didn’t know what it was called. Lately I have gotten away from it a bit, as far as liking it. But, as with other things, absence makes me more fond of it again.
Since I haven’t tried the patchouli, I’ll have to order it next. Looking forward to seeing what you will have in the store! I’m lovin’ my soaps!
Good morning, Debbie. Glad you are “lovin'” your soaps! The patchouli should be ready in a few weeks, as well as a few other new scents. My next idea is a garden inspired soap, with basil as one of the essential oils. I can smell it now!
