Annie’s Goat Hill Handcrafted Soaps is not folding, we are moving to flat land.
The red barn, pictured above, will be the new soap shop. I have a wonderful large room to work from now. The new shop will more than double that space. Windows will be added, as well as a floor (likely concrete) for the front porch. I turn pretty much everything into a county look. This will be no exception.
The land includes no slopes, no pond, and some lovely paths to walk in the woods. Abundant pasture for the goats is something I am truly excited about. I cannot wait to see the herd stretching out.
Bear with me as we go through this major change. The shop will be completed first, to ensure there are no breaks in business. We need to place a home and a barn as well. It will be a big job, but one I have a lot of patience for. It has been needed for quite some time!
I look forward to writing to you from under my porch roof, in between soap making. Listening to the wind, the birds, and other beautiful gifts from nature as they pass by.
Congratulations to you!!!!! Sounds wonderful… enjoy!
I will be focusing on the beneficial side of this move, even though it will be the most complicated one we have made (animals and businesses).
I am going from 264 sq ft to 576 with the shop, so I am definitely going to have more room. I currently have every inch of floor and counter space maximized.
This will eventually be an ahhhh move. Time to enjoy the quiet off of a busy road, with stretching room for everyone – people and animal.
Thanks, Lynnanne! I knew you would like it once I mentioned woods.
Sounds exciting!! Do you ever slow down???
I don’t want to, Diane! I know, all in jest. Have a wonderful day!
What a nice location!

Thank you Amy!
That is exciting news! I love it and bigger space means more potential and growth. I wish you all the luck in your new transition.
Melissa, I made soap today and had to laugh. I have new supplies and other things still in boxes in the shop because I ran out of room. It looks awful. I like a clean, neat, pretty shop. I told myself, “You’ll have more room soon!” I love the shop I have because we designed it, 1/3 of a dettached 3 bay garage. I trimmed it white with caramel colored walls, set up work tables, curing racks, you name it. We have always joked that I needed to take the rest of the garage over, and I do. Thank you…you know how I feel about it, I support you too, and each and every person who has the passion to own their own business!!
Oh Yay!!!
More room!!
I can see why you are so excited. I can’t wait until all is settled for you.
Much, much more room! My business is growing rapidly. I hope to really need the space!
Love it!
