Farm-house goat milk soaps carry with them a rememberance of days gone by. A simple farm life. My goal is to some day own a farm with a working farm store (filled with goat milk soap of course), with a beautiful petting area for the visitors to meet goats. Who knows, I may even have a guest home for the occasional overnight stay.
But at this time, there is no farm store. My insurance agent strictly forbade me from allowing visitors to cross the threshold. I adhere.
There is a beautiful retail store, called Country Home Crafts, located about 10 minutes from my farm, filled to the brim with wonderful handcrafted items that include furniture, handbags, candles, assorted home decorations, linens, and of course, Annie’s Goat Hill soaps and lotions.
Until the day arrives where I meet my goals of a farm store located right on the premises, purchases will need to be made online or at the retail store.
The location is:
Country Home Crafts, 8446 St. Rt. 62, Hillsboro, OH 45133
I feel genuinely sorry for those that have called to say, “I am on my way (to the farm).” I swiftly redirect. If you want to meet me, give me a call, I’ll be more than happy to meet up with you at the store!
Hi Mary,
Well, I used your merlot wine soap today in the shower and loved it! It was so perfect for my face and body and I even shaved my legs with it (is that TMI?)…
Thanks,
Diane
Not TMI!! Diane, I have not used shaving cream in years. Literally, I used to nic myself all of the time while shaving. I never, ever do so with goat milk soap. Glad you are happy with the first soap you tried. 🙂
You aren’t the only one that has this problem of folks thinking they can “just stop by” your “store”. When I attend local farmers markets and craft fairs, I get the same thing. When folks realize I’m a local seller, they immediately want to know where my “store” is located. Except for the online web site you see on the business card you have in your hand, you’re looking at it! 🙂
Many blessings! Wish I could “stop by your store”…oops, I’ll have to check out the store down the road from you, but you’re more than half the U.S. away from me! (sigh). I’ll just have to look at your online store instead.
Wouldn’t it be nice if someone could invent a “sniff-cam” for the computer, so you can smell as well as see what you are looking at?
I understand the excitement of wanting to try out soap, smell it, be there at the store.
I used to buy handcrafted soap in a small tourist town several times a year myself. It was a wonderful setting, very pleasurable, that I truly looked forward to.
At this point, however, it just is not feasible. It will be, hopefully. Until then, I am glad to be in a store close to home where I can direct local folks to.
Sniff-a-vision would be fantastic! I agree!
Mary, I hope one day you will have a “Farm Store”. To be able to see and smell your goat’s milk soap and see and touch the goats that provide the milk that make the soap would be lots of fun. Plus your friendly personality would brighten the day.
Thank you, Joan. The vision is definitely there for the business, and for my customers. It seems that people that truly love goat milk soap are some of the nicest people anyone could ask for in customers. I hope to continue to give back to them!
Oh that would be fun. I know, hard work, but fun. There are a couple of places near me that would be perfect for a country store like you described.
