I have been missing in action, living with aggravation. And now I am trying to write in a manner that includes humor. That, in itself, is funny. I asked my husband for help, words of wisdom, his reply was, “Throw eggs at it.”
The basket of joy has included mobile phone problems, computer troubles, and signal connection problems.
I did gain some knowledge. I will admit to it, I now know the difference between wireless and WiFi (no, I did not know a few weeks ago). I am now on a wireless plan, and hope to pitch the satellite if all goes well. No more missing signal when it rains or snows. I can live with slow related to weather, of course, I do choose to live in the country.
Do you ever think about how much time a person burns up while dealing with these types of electronic issues? Personally, I saw (and still see) myself behind in the soap shop, at my desk, and with personal chores as a result of spending countless hours on the phone with technical support departments. I sometimes wonder, is it all worth it?
My answer is, yes, it is worth it. We wouldn’t have the opportunities in life of connecting here if we didn’t occasionally need to update. And it keeps us young, I am sure you will agree, when we are forced to learn to keep up to date with technology. Oh yeah, that would be it. Right? Uh-huh.
I vaguely remember a commercial jingle that fits here, “Sometimes we feel like a nut, sometimes we don’t!”
Humor works.
LOL! We were without internet for a week and a half though but finally got it up and running last week from a guy that was working here since we switched over to a Static IP.
Amy
Now there is a new term for me, Static IP!
When we’ve had computer failure here, I believe we resemble junkies with the shakes and behavior issues. We need our fix or something bad may happen. Isn’t that awful? We’ve become dependent on this screen! And I don’t run a business, but I run all our business on here.
Debbie
The shakes is definitely a good description of the human symptoms resulting from signal or computer problems. I need to remember that! I love how you say you don’t run a business but you do run all of your business from your computer.
When I was in grade school, about the 3rd grade, I clearly remember the teacher saying each home would have a computer in it someday. I was skeptical. Little did I know. Most homes have a mess of computers in them now, even some of our washing machines do not run without a “board.” Amazing world we live in, yet, when the technical things do not work we realize how much trouble we have created.
Oh well, I need to stop right here…I could talk eons on this topic!
Sometimes we have to laugh to keep from crying, don’t we Mary? I’d much rather laugh than be upset all the time.
We get all the hassle at home with internet, phones, etc., and then I have to deal with it at work, too. I HATE dealing with techno-issues. I’m not a very technical person!
Your new herb soaps sound wonderful. I think the lavender would still be my favorite! Glad you’re up and running again!
Techno-issues…they gobble up our time and then go away for a while. Wouldn’t it be great if they stayed away?
When I worked in the office away from home somehow I ended being the copy machine guru. To this day, I still have no idea why they thought I was the one to call for help. We were to fix what we could without an actual repair. A lot of work went into clearing error codes before we called the technician in. I really disliked being adopted for that techno-issue…ha ha ha. But convenience leads to problems!
I’ve been having technical issues around here, too. Tomorrow’s post will show you why. *sigh*
And the nut thing, oh yeah, it fits!
Have to through some humor in there, Becky. I feel like a nut often. Thankfully, the husband and I both can come up with some humorous stuff, laugh. It keeps the world going!
I hope your technical issues are resolved as well.
The wireless that I am using seems to be working very well. I have had no issues, even when it is raining. They say we are on the edge of the tower strength, a good strong area. I am happy so far. It just took trial and error to get there.
Static IP address is where your IP address doesn’t change and if you’re out of town no one can steal the number either! It was a new term for us too but the security guy explained it to us.
Amy
Mary, I was meaning I am the nut, not you. LOL
