A few months back I accidentally removed my blog roll.
I fretted for a moment, felt a bit of discomfort, knowing that I had deleted some pretty special links.
As time went on I relaxed.
Now I have decided to leave it as it is.
Why?
As a human being, and as a business person, I simply cannot pick and choose bloggers. If I listed all of the blogs that I read you would find pages upon pages listed.
As Kathy B., of Spot On Cedar Pond also said, I also have eclectic tastes. I may be reading a wonderful blog written about Texas folks one day, reading about goats tomorrow, reading about a country cottage the next day, or even about natural perfuming or soaping the next.
It is easier for me, as busy as I already am, to leave the blog roll alone. If your blog goes dormant, I do not have to remove your link. And I do not step on any toes by omitting one of your fantastic blog links. A blog is a lot of hard work, and I honor each and every person that takes the time to keep one up to date.
The joy of blogging is, when we find the time to read, we read. When we comment, we comment (as long as Blogger allows the comments to post, ahem…clearing the throat).
Have a beautiful day, as always!
I try to blog every day and I try to visit blogs and comment every day as well!

Amy, I do too, but sometimes I just do not have time on my hands. I split time up as best as possible. Glad you do!
Your blogroll sounds like mine. I read all sorts fo blogs! Its addictive!!lol
Good and addictive!
I’ve got so many on my follow list and my side bar that I can’t possibly visit them all – even in a week! But I keep them because I once found something interesting there, and hope to go back and visit them again sometime!
Hope everything is going well for you – by the way, your little kid in the wheelbarrow is MY favorite, too! Just look at that sweet face… hope to see more of her!
Oh, yes, she is a darling. Growing taller now. I hope I can post “growing up” follow up’s now and then.
Vickie, I keep the blogs that I follow on Google Reader. It works for me, to help stay up with everyone.
I try to blog everyday unless something comes up and I can’t though.
Amy
So many times I have thought about all the things you just wrote about blog-rolls. Mine seems to be disappearing from my page for no reason at all, BLOGGER?
I use my Google Reader usually to keep up on blogs I read, but as a previous commentator said, I enjoy them in others’ blogs and have found so many other interesting blogs that way.
As usual, thought-provoking! BTW, I have you in my farm blog-roll, Red Dog Spotted Sheep. I love to see when you have a new post up! I have noticed WordPress does not come up as well or as often on my pages.
Blogger likes their own blogs, so it seems to me, Kathy. Word Press can be a real hassle for keeping up to date on Blogger. And, one Blogspot blogger told me that she has to go through a lot of details (type in a lot of personal information) just to leave comments on Word Press.
I love Word Press because of its speed, and little down-time. The dashboard is easy to navigate. I had a terrifically difficult time with Blogger. I love being able to list categories as well. And I never lose anything on Word Press, nothing goofy happens like it did with my Blogger account. It was a big move, a big change, but one that I never regret.
I might bring the blog roll back one day. I can see where my readers might enjoy visiting and reading the blogs that I frequent.
I did want to clarify one thing, by “dormant,” I mean a blog that was created and never followed up on. Some people just drop off, period. I hate to see that happen, but sometimes people move on to other things in life.
That is one reason why I switched to Word Press too Mary!

It really is a much better blog system, in my opinion. Glad you like it too, Amy.
My problem is that blogs come and go and I can’t keep up with the links. I fear it is behind. Guess if I’m gonna keep the link list I need to get it up to date.
I brought the blog roll back. I just couldn’t live with not listing it after hearing the input from everyone. It isn’t so much for me, the list is for everyone else.
