What a difference a day can make in weather. From 80 degrees, and rather humid, to 50 degrees and very windy. It is a hold onto your hat type of day! The goats seem to love it though.
That is Snowball peering around the tree truck. She is a snubian (saanan/nubian mix). I have several full-grown snubians, and some up and coming future milkers as well. When they are more than one generation away from the initial breeding they tend to go from solid white to a light tan/peach color, and their ears are longer as well. This breed mix tends to grow fast and they are always gentle. They are also great on the milkstand.
As I tried to take a few more pictures this morning, Sarah, our friendly boer goat showed up, and apparently the kids behind her were into some antics. They are up and about, happily bouncing everywhere this morning.
Have a great weekend!
The 5o some degree day seems to agree with them for sure! Isn’t it nice to look forward to a weekend with spring-like weather? Happy weekend, happy Mother’s Day….(I think the doe’s enjoy happy times all year round though)
Your goats look very healthy and sleek!
Hello, Kathy.
Yes, weekends and nice spring weather are refreshing.
Most of the girls are looking good. A few still have half of a winter coat. They look a bit shaggy, ha!
I visited your Red Dog and Spotted Sheep blog earlier today. I was not able to leave comments from here, hope to get back on my PC. Always love seeing your sheep and lambs.
Not sure what I’d call our goats – started out with a boer buck and some mixed spanish does. Now have the offspring from those mixed with nubian and boer – spanuboer? I do love the nubian temperament and those long lovely ears! Little cooler here in Texas too – the goats are thrilled – although our little herd prefer hot weather to cold or wet anydayl
I would have tremendous trouble remembering spanuboer, ha ha ha. Funny, Linda Sue.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Gotta love those little goats. How’s Ogla doing? 😉
Ogla is doing well. She is growing, yet still small. She likes to be loved on, the little darling, even though she isn’t a bottle kid she is friendly. I think we are in love. I say we because the husband is attached to her too.
Happy Mother’s Day, Lynnanne!
Did you seriously name her that? lol (I knew you’d know which one I was talking about lol)
Happy Mother’s Day to you, too!!
No, I have not named her yet. But I love that name, and seriously might me naming her that!
It was about 50 degrees here and very windy plus we had a little bit of rain showers off and on in the afternoon yesterday too! It was near 90 degrees here on Friday though.
Amy
I froze all weekend, despite the sunshine. Ha. We have a lot of rain forecasted for this week. I am going to savor today’s sunshine.
Cute!
I’ll bet they’re comical to watch!
