Hello to you!
Over the last year, many opportunities and changes in both my business, farm, and personal life, have been laid before me.
A lot of prayer, faith, and stamina led me to decisions that I know are right with God. In fact, without a doubt, God is the one leading me down the new road. You do not dare say no to that! God says pivot, I am pivoting! Onwards!
I’ve made a video for you to watch (I apologize for cutting off the last line when I trimmed the video). It was not easy to keep a straight face the first five times the camera and I went around! The last line said: my email address for Annie’s Goat Hill will remain active. Please feel free to contact me. I’ll miss your treasured words if you don’t!
Please watch my video here.
My tentative close date is August 31, 2012.
I plan to extend the $6.00 flat rate shipping (per shipping box) until the last bar of soap is sold.
After the soap is sold, I will still remain open to book sales, with more books on the way (yes!!), and bundled soap making consultation packages (that I am very excited about)!
I cannot say thank you enough for your support! I am so grateful to have been able to make the connections that I have (I am not finished talking about this yet), and to have supplied you with the wonderful soap that included the beautiful milk that my girls produced.
In the upcoming weeks, I will be announcing the adventures that I have up my sleeve. A new business has already been formed! I’ll reach so many more people as I move out and about in the world. I can hardly wait!
God Bless.
Mary
My dear friend, I keep you close in my prayers and know you will be fine. I know it wasn’t easy but sometimes we have to make decisions that in the long run are the best ones. Good luck and many many more successes.
It was not an easy decision until I realized what I was really doing. Thank you, Melissa. I appreciate your support.
Hugs! God has led us to make some decisions in our farm life too that is one reason we’re not breeding or selling goats anymore and in the near future we won’t be having anymore goats though. We always trust in what God has in store for us. Plus our decision in our farm life has to do with our health too. Catching up on blogs after being gone for 10 days, just got back home on Thursday and my 7 year old niece stayed with us for a week at our camp sites and her daddy will be taking her home tomorrow, he arrived here yesterday with their dog, his dog will be staying at our farm since his daughter just became allergic to him and whenever they come to Grandpa and Granny’s farm they can see their dog too. We did some camping with my brother and his 7 year old daughter and 3 year old son last weekend in N. Georgia mountains (bear country) but we didn’t see any bears while camping in our truck camper last week though, we arrived to the camp site on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 and then headed to another camp site on Monday, July 30, 2012 so we could take my 7 year old niece to the Creation Museum, we spent 2 days at the Creation Museum (Tuesday and Wednesday, August 1st and 2nd and returned home on the 3rd.)
Blessings,
Amy
I cannot wait to visit the creation museum! I had hoped to ride down there this summer, but it looks like it might be a little bit longer.
I am glad you had a good time!
Thank you for your kind words, Amy.
The last time we went to the Creation Museum was on November 1, 2008 with my brother and 3 out of 4 of his daughter’s as well as my parent’s and Grandma (my Mom’s Mom), this was my 7 year old niece’s 1st time to the Creation Museum, it’s a lot of fun, I’ll post the pictures that I took with my cell phone sometime when I figure out how to upload them to the computer, I might get a USB cord for my phone to upload them.
Amy
Best of luck with your new venture, Mary! I know it was carefully thought out and prayed over and I’m sure you’re going to be a great success! May the Lord bless you!
Vickie, I appreciate your kind words. May the Lord bless you too!
Yes, it was carefully thought out. The beginnings of this venture came to a start nearly a year ago. A course of time has pulled all of the pieces together.
Thank you for your uplifting comment. We’ve crossed our blog paths for a very long time, and I look forward to many more years! Mary
Congratulations on your amazing decision and the new direction for your life and your business! This is very exciting and I am thrilled to see this newness. I am thrilled about your new book and I know the next one(s) will be just as fabulous. What an exciting journey — I’m looking forward to watching the fun!
Pivot…it is all about pivoting.
I am very happy, and excited. For now, I have found a way to reach my next set of goals in a special and personal way. I can reach many people, and I will definitely have so much to write about and say.
I appreciate your support! Mary
I wish you the best on your new path and can’t wait to see where it will take you!
Thank you, Anne-Marie. I have a job to do, and it will be fun doing it! Who knows where it will take me next, but whatever it is, I am eager to continue growing. I am eager to take the path laid out before me. Mary
I’m proud to have been able to sample your soaps. I used the Rose Geranium last night and the Castile today. They are both lovely. Best of luck with your future plans. I look forward to seeing your next move.
Donna, how sweet your comments are! I haven’t known you for long, but have very much enjoyed talking with you through social media, and especially in our #HandmadeChat, and now here. Stay in touch! I am glad you enjoyed the soap, that means a lot to me too.
Well Mary, I am excited and sad all at the same time. I will miss the soaps but I know that you and God know what is best for you. I will be staying in touch with you. I cannot stay away from your magnetic personality for very long. Good luck to you in this new adventure! I am hoping that with the turn of each page brings you happiness and success. Love ya, girl!!!
You will not lose touch with me. Even I was concerned about losing connections, for a very short period of time. It is clear to me that my business, what I do in life, is just shifting. I am not going away. You are a good friend, one that I treasure. You also stay in touch, Becky. Those gators in the road are going to get you if you don’t!
WHAT? Oh my gosh! I must have been in the clouds somewhere…. I saw on FB where you were rehoming your goats, but I had no idea this was why. Wow! Well, you go girl!! Good luck on your new adventure! Maybe I’ve missed what it is? Or, maybe you’ve not announced it yet? I bet it has something to do with …. words.
Keep in touch!
Yes, this is why I sold the goats. And, yes, you are right, I still have not completely said what it is I am doing yet. About 1/2 of it does involve words. I wonder if you can guess the other 1/2. I don’t think so, but you never know 🙂 I will make an announcement soon.
Okay, I have to guess. You’re going to be a public motivational speaker. Something to do with building businesses. 🙂 And writing about it. Or, you’re going to write books on Indy businesses, and tour to tell about them! Okay, whatever it is… have fun!!
And, I’ve finally pushed “send” on my own website…. it’ll be slow on the uptake, but it’ll get there. No service to offer, just a personal website thus far. Maybe that book, if I ever get it finished. Trying to get my aunt to write one with me on the family. Should be fun.
Keep in touch.

Lynnanne, the ironic thing about your comment is that I love to speak. I have to get over the initial few minutes of fear, when I lose my voice, but once I warm up I cannot stop. I speak with passion. It rolls out.
But no, that isn’t it.
I am going to write books. That is 1/2 of it.
Towards the end of the week I will likely post on the blog what I am going to be doing. I’ll link you to it as soon as I do.
I love your idea of a website, where can I find it? Move forward with the book!
Oh, and I am going to be a Hoosier once again. 🙂
I have been away from my blog & computer too long, and sit down to it to infrequently for too little time lately. My gosh, this is exciting Mary! I can’t wait to see what is up with you & yours . Your way of communicating is inspirational & uplifting. Still enjoying some of your soap too.
Hi Kathy – I understand completely about being away from the computer. I have you on Google Reader, and still, I don’t comment as often as I would like. Thank you for your kind words!
[…] I joined my husband when he shifted to driving full-time across the United States as a semi-truck driver several years ago. God asked for a change in our lives, and so I made the announcement to close Annie’s Goat Hill Handcrafted Soaps (here). […]
