If you want to obtain sponsorship for your website, but do not know where to start, last night’s #HandmadeChat brimmed over with information and questions on that very topic.
Melissa Rivera, of Naturally Good Soaps, lead the energetic and instructive discussion.
Q2 WHY WOULD A BUSINESS WANT TO HAVE SPONSORS AT THEIR SITE?
- To expand a business model that connects site visitors with products or services they may wish to buy.
- To develop relationships with companies who can help your site visitors be successful
- To offer a new service that increases your income while helping other people
Q3 ARE THERE ANY GUIDELINES FOR SEEKING OUT SPONSORS FOR YOUR SITE?
- Relevance: sponsor products and services should be relevant to your site audience
- Branding Fit: your brand should be a positive reflection of the sponsor, and vice versa
- Audience: you need an audience at the site; sponsors are attracted to your numbers
- Keep that branding consistent across all channels. Online, print, product labels, etc.
Question from : @highwireinheels WHAT ARE GOOD NUMBERS TO ATTRACT SPONSORS?
- No magic number. You sense it when you see your audience connecting with potential sponsors via your site
- Really is no magic number. But something starting with “1,000” begins to sound substantial enough to begin

Thanks for sharing this — what a fun chat! I loved that people chimed in and asked questions we didn’t anticipate too. I hope we got across great tips and that people see that it’s not a one-size-fits-all thing. You can be creative and unique. If you are, you’ll attract more sponsors anyway! See you next week!
I hope that others learned as much as I did from the chat this week, dM. We aren’t experts at everything, there is always room to learn from others and grow.
One of the key things I learned this year as a small business owner is to be myself. When we release ourselves to open creativity, we lead and attract!
The biggest thing I have learned as a business owner is to allow myself to be just who I am. It promotes creativity and attracts those that we want in our business and personal community.
The value of #HandmadeChat is immeasurable. It brings forward sharing, and encouragement, with the foundation that we can do this together…and be stronger in multiple numbers.
Thank you for your comments, dM!
What a great chat we had Mary! It was always fun and informative and I am glad I was able to help any which way I can. I learned a lot myself in doing the research. Thanks for sharing!!
It was a great chat, Melissa! I loved what you brought to the chat, very helpful and in-depth information.
