With the mindset of Seeing Life With Imagination, a blog post I published a few days ago (with a focus on seeing through the eyes of a child), I saw this beautiful stray violet this morning.
The violet popped up alone, right below the utility trailer where I store the hay for the goats, in a patch of dirt that we recently worked – hoping to sow and grow some lush green grass.
What did I see in the tiny violet? Hope. Beauty. A promise that even though we may feel tired, alone, overwhelmed, and even discouraged, the small things in life are wonderous. We need to pay attention.
My remarkable coach and friend, Donna Maria Coles Johnson from the Indie Beauty Network, said the words yesterday (and it isn’t the first time I’ve heard her say it), “Today is the best day ever!” Donna Maria sees the violets. She sees life with gusto.
The best day ever. Be the violet. Make your world happen despite anything else in life. Are you there with me?

Yes, I am with you. It’s a challenge with so much negativity but I am hanging in there. LOL
It does get difficult. Keeping things in perspective is key. What is a little thing? What is a big thing? I normally realize everything is a little thing.
I am with you too! I always see beauty in God’s creation and am certainly blessed with all the lovely flowers, etc. that are popping up everywhere right now!

You are definitely right with me! I am glad.
You are definitely right with me! I am glad.
This is a special post, Mary. Thank you for it and for all of the new things you are adding to your blog. I enjoy reading your thoughts and seeing this amazing transformation. Thank you for favorably referencing me in this post. I am honored. And to Becky, I don’t know what you are going through, but I know what it’s like to be surrounded by negativity and having to keep going anyway. It’s a challenge, but you can do it because God will give you the strength to do it. And remember this: if the negativity begins to make it impossible for you to be healthy and safe, and to fulfill your mission here on this earth, it is time for you to act to change things. Sending you good thoughts and prayers.
Thank you, Donna Maria. The Best Day Ever. It sticks with me. Wise words from a woman that I admire.
Becky, I am going to make sure you read dM’s words. You are a special lady. Why? Because you are.
Thank you, Donna Maria and Mary! I am working hard to bring back my positive attitude and to those around me. I know that God has a plan and I will see it in His time. Even though the waiting gets tiresome at times I keep the faith because I know God loves me and will not let me down.
Don’t push for the display of a positive attitude. I think your honesty has been good. I have done the same from time to time. Sometimes it helps to just say how you feel. In my opinion, there is a huge difference between a negative person that spills negativity onto others constantly, and a person that is having a rough time (for whatever reason) that needs to voice themselves at the moment. We are only human. And, I want to add, I have never thought of you as a person with a less than positive attitude, I mean that. You are strong. If you need to, email me. Any time.
