Kitten Little is growing up. She is on a 3 day stay at the vet hospital following her spaying and declawing surgery.
We are pitiful. We miss the little 5.4 pound terror!
Where is our little girl that steals keys, pens, anything that makes noise and is not glued down?
When I used the printer today there was no Kitten Little trying to rip the newly printed documents to shreds.
When I opened the dryer door there was no Kitten Little flying through the air, making her normal perfect landing inside the warm and fluffy clothes.
One thing is obvious, we terribly spoil the cat. We never realized it until this week.
On top of the silliness of missing her, I am left with the horror of my last words when we dropped the cat off for her surgery. As the vet was carrying her away to the crate area, I found myself choking up and saying, “She’s our bottle baby, we are pretty attached.” What? I immediately asked myself what did I just say? The cat hasn’t had a bottle, obviously, for many months.
Hmmmmffff…I don’t own a cat, she owns me.
This completely brightened my morning!!!
Well, that is great to hear! I hope your day is a shiny one!
It is true. Cats do own you. I hate being away from mine.
My kittens are part labrador – I woke to find the bathroom strewn with toilet paper this morning. I would not change them for the world – except perhaps at 4.00am when they are pounding on me!
If you could have heard the giggle as I read your comment, especially “except perhaps at 4:00 am.” There’s cat ownership wrapped into a nutshell!
She weighs about the same as our male kitties that we just got neutered.
God did a good thing when he created all these critters for us to love. Even if they do “own” us.
We don’t have cats, but we have dogs who sleep with us. But I’m thinking I really need a kitten. I love to watch them play.
The little tyke is very uncomfortable, but doing okay. I could not find her today, I felt concerned. She is sleeping a lot, which is good, but I still check on her. Today I finally found her in a clothes basket, happy and content. So she messed up my clean towels with cat hair…she’s allowed. Ha ha ha. Queen-owner that she is. Yes, God did a very good thing when he created our critters!
Hi Mary! Just getting around to visit everyone again! It’s been a busy time of year!
I am amused at your kitty and how she owns you. Yes, it’s true. I have two cats now, both of which are supposed to be OUTside kitties. Well, only one of them is now. When we took Allie (Alice) to get her spayed, I brought her inside to heal, and that was a month ago. She’s still inside and now I don’t have the heart to stick her back outside in the cold. She was not a good mouser anyway. She’s a lap-cat. The boy cat, Jasper, is outside, and doing a great job of gopher-ing and mousing. We didn’t have Alice’s claws removed tho in case she gets back out here at the farm — maybe in the spring? Think that’ll happen?????
Me either…
Vickie, I agree, it is a busy time of year. It seems like we have all been busy since mid-summer, actually!
The cat stories, my goodness. They will continue. Today I kept hearing thudding around, with her making a noise that seemed like a cross between a purr and a meow. I finally figured it was time to hunt her down. She was in the empty bathtub, acting like an insane cat.
Kritters!
Take care, Vickie!
I have enjoyed watching Kitten Little growing up. She is sweet!
It has been fun, hasn’t it? The tyke is mean now, sweet at times, full of pep at others. When she is full of pep she likes to play, very hard, almost like a dog. It could be because she grew up with dogs, not kitten siblings. We are grateful the front claws are gone…and grateful that she survived and is now very much alive! Thanks, Melissa.
hi Mary, my name is Cecilia, just saw your post, a late response, as I’ve only recently adopted a kitten, she’s a sweetheart, 3 months old, I must say that I’m a little bit inexperienced taking care of a cat… so it’s good to see all of these posts… 🙂 hopefully we can keep in touch on this… cheers
Hi Cecliia –
Kudos to you for adopting a kitten. Animals need our loving care.
If you want to swap notes, please be sure to comment or leave a message for me. I’ll be here!
Our cat is now a bit over a year old, fat and sassy. Happy. She is up nightly doing whatever it is she does, with each night it seems to be something new. You will hear no complaints from me. She is alive because we saved her, raised her, and that means a lot to me.
Cheers back at you! Let me know how your kitten raising goes!
