Breezy October Afternoon
I feel thankful today, insightful, full of thoughts for the business, myself, and many thoughts of others.
I found this beautiful statement in a country magazine, words authored by Hillel the Elder. The article says to Google Hillel, I haven’t yet.
If I am not for myself,
Who Will Be?
If I am only for myself,
What am I?
Isn’t that a huge amount of wisdom, said in just a few words? I share my entire life with God. I live by faith, so I am not by myself, nor am I looking out for only myself.
But…here is what the article goes on to say: “If we don’t take care of ourselves; emotionally, spiritually, and physically – who will? As a matter of fact these are areas of our own personal growth, study, and practice; ares of our own responsibility.”
Absolutely!!!! How about you, do you agree with that statement?
Have a wonderful Saturday!
Yes, of course, I agree!
Yes, I agree.
Me and God, all else will fall into place.
Absolutely! We were created to fellowship with Him and we can’t do that if we are focusing only on ourselves. But….we must take care of ourselves in order to live this life He gave us to the utmost.
I like this post a lot!
yeppers… i agree with it and need to keep it in the forefront of my mind. it’s easy to sidestep things when it comes to the health and happiness of self.
nice reminder, mary.
thanks!
Good quote. I agree. Just me and God, if the Lord is for me, who can be against me?
I can’t believe you’ve never had a homemade tamale! Us Texans I guess have alot more opportunities. We even have a tortilla factory here in Tyler and they sell everything – corn & flour tortillas, chips, salsa (red & green), AND fresh tamales! and all sorts of other Mexican food. They are real good, but it’s always good to get some homemade handmade ones by my friend, Lourdes!
I don’t think they’d ship very good tho, so you’ll either have to come to Texas or sniff your computer screen! hee hee – have a great week!
Good Morning! Loved that simple black and white photo, thought it went well with reflective thoughts.
Vickie, I cannot believe I have not had them either. If I ever visit Texas, I will know one place to visit and what food I would want to try!
Yes, it does say it all. We cannot do what God lovingly requires if we do not spend time , time we have to set aside, with Him. We do not gain the calm, the peace, the wisdom and discernment He offers if we do not take time to dwell in Him…so yes, that quote does say it all, Thank-you Mary.
Lovely post and some very good thoughts indeed.
