In our household we are not big on kissing, candies, or flowers.
What we circle around is mutual support, respect, and love.
Humor is a big part of our marriage.
Overlooking faults plays in there too. A bond strengthens when it is based on a positive outlook.
I am married to my best friend. We walk the path of life beside each other. What more can a person ask for on Valentine’s Day?
The simple things in life, things that do not go “bling,” are often the most valuable to the heart and soul.
Have a beautiful day!
How blessed and how right you are. Happy Valentine’s Day to you both, sounds like you celebrate it all year long!
Hi there, Kathy! Happy Valentine’s Day!
Well said, Mary. If more marriages shared those values instead of the hugging and kissing, they’d last longer. Of course we still like hugging and kissing, but that fades away alot quicker than mutual support, respect and love.
Keeping up with you!
Deb
Hi Deb, glad you are “keeping up” with me! Yesterday was a tough day for folks that are single, that do not like being single. My hope for them is that they do find the mate that they can be friends with, compassionate friends that have stick-to-your-side-ness.
Good post! My brother and my sister-in-law will be married for 8 years tomorrow but today is our Nubian doe, Jewel’s birthday which she is referred to as the ‘wedding’ goat, she was one of triplets but we sold her brother’s to a lady in NY as wethers.

I saw your Wedding Goat on your blog yesterday. Nothing like a darling nubian’s face!
No there isn’t anything better than that Mary! We still have one of her daughter’s (a Mini-Nubian).

Hi Mary,
I like your philosophy on marriage with respect to the mutual support, respect and love. They are truly enduring values for any successful marriage.
A positive outlooks helps, as well.
I would especially underscore the importance of humor. God gives us many gifts, and humor is one of them!
Thank you Mary for sharing this!
Thanks, Micheal. We might as well lighten up, or keep it lightened up with humor. As my husband says, “Don’t sweat the small stuff.” Much of life, if not all of it (while we are here), is the small stuff. Take care!
The simple things in life ARE my bling!!!
The best kind of bling!
