Patchouli has a warm, earthy, and sweet aroma.
Patchouli is a valuable essential oil to the natural product crafter. It is often used as a base note in perfumes, as it is a fantastic fixative that helps the scent of a natural perfume hold lasting abilities. Patchouli is often used in aromatherapy for its calming and grounding properties. And in natural skin care products, patchouli is known for its antiseptic and emollient properties. It can assist both troubled and mature skin.
The scent of patchouli is often loved or hated. I personally have adored it for many years, especially combined with other oils as a perfume. It definitely is a grounding aroma on my list.
Patchouli goat milk soap is now available in my online store.
Enjoy!
you’re getting to me, now! I think I’m going to have to order some of this!!
Love the smell of Patchouli!

your patchouli is wonderful!!
it’s one of those scents that takes me back to a time and place… filled with love, peace, and hope.
Diane, let me know if you need anything!
I didn’t know you love it too, Amy.
Lynnanne, same here. I loved patchouli back in the 70’s but didn’t know what it was. I began buying patchouli handcrafted soap in the early 90’s…will always love the scent. With this soap, I am happy to make it straight patchouli, not a blend that takes away from its ambiance. Patchouli is grounding for me, filled with “hope” is a good association. Do you agree?
Yeah, I do.… some of my friends wore the oil as a fragrance back in the 70s. Loved it! So today, when I am around someone who’s wearing it, I pardon myself and sniff away. 😉
LOL…I hear you!
I’ve never smelled it, that I know of.
You are always intriguing my curiosity.
I like that!
Something tells me once you smell it, you’ll know it. I would be surprised if you had not smelled it before.
Patchouli is not loved by everyone. I wore a patchouli blend for years. I received a lot of compliments on it, people always asked what I was wearing, and wanted some. But I clearly remember one cashier’s comments, “Have you been cleaning? I smell bleach or something on you!”
