The barn and farm project continues.
We expected to have everything reassembled by today, but, things do not always go as planned.
My best mechanism to things not falling into place is humor.
And humor it is!
When I knocked my noggin on the bucket of the tractor. I laughed.
When the tractor would not re-start I did not laugh. Neither did the husband. We didn’t scowl either. But, when I attempted to back up his pick up, turn it around so we could jump-start the tractor, I headed straight into a pile of barn debris. We laughed.
We laughed so hard we could barely walk.
The good times are when things are not going as planned. When a person is tired and not seeing the end of the task at hand. Yet smiling because life is good.
Why not laugh? Why not have a good time?
I hope you are enjoying life as well, regardless of what you are doing right now!
It’s so much better to try to have a positive attitude on life, isn’t it! Some people are sour-pusses all the time and I don’t like being around them. I have enough grump in myself and I don’t like having someone else around that’s giving me more. Sometimes it’s unavoidable when it’s a family member and I guess we just have to deal with it. I try to encourage and make each day positive for myself and those around me. Laughing is the best medicine as far as I’m concerned! So it was good to hear about ya’ll laughing at you running into the farm debris! I’ll bet that WAS FUNNY!!!
It was funny! My husband has a wonderful sense of humor. Sometimes too much, but can there really be too much humor? Complete strangers have looked at me and said, “I am sorry!” That in itself is funny. Life is short, very, very short. And I intened to enjoy it. Not a lot of drama, and certainly no moping around!
I appreciate this post today. My kid#4 Sam totaled out his car last night. I cried, because he so much wants to please the Lord and is such a good guy. Realizing that God has allowed this to happen, I will begin laughing and praising the Lord today in Sam’s behalf. God can take what was meant for evil and turn it to good. Thanks for reminding me. P.S. He is fine. I can praise the Lord for that alone.
Debbie, I am glad your son is okay! I love what you said, “God can take what was meant for evil and turn it to good.” Perfect.
What a great positive way to look at things! That black headed doe reminds me of our Boer doe Cookie here on our farm. The little red kid is pretty too!
Jennifer, the red doe is beautiful now. She is short, but wide. Her dam is a 50% boer, 50% nubian. Her sire is a nubian. She got the nubian markings, and boer heftiness. But a handful, always into something!
I’d much rather cry while in a fit of laughter than any other time. 🙂
Wait until I tell the next laughter story…yep, this one is a GOOD one!!! Next, perhaps in the morning when I have some sanity about me. I am tired!
Can’t wait! lol 🙂
We live on a funny farm…have I told you that?
I SO agree with you!
And I need to practice this with The Captain. He worries me sometimes, because he gets so upset when things aren’t going the way they should.
Thanks for reminding me!!
A sense of humor seems to help. I know it does me!
Your farm sound like lots of fun! Especially with all the cute critters. 🙂
There are very few dull moments!
