We had a very frosty morning. I had better pull the calendula before it does a complete disappearance this season.
I am thinking dried (powdered) calendula for soap, or petals in soap, or perhaps an infusion in olive oil (leading later to an infused salve). The possiblities of color and usefulness are numerous!
Enjoy your weekend. Hope you see some gorgeous sunshine like we are!
P.S. Ignore the weeds in the photo. Weeding is the last thing I have time for lately!
Annie’s Goat Hill Handcrafted Soaps…Smell and Feel the Goodness
It’s sunny here as well! Couldn’t tell if we had a frosty morning here in our valley because of the fog.
Hope you have a lovely weekend as well!
Amy
We had a lot of fog in our area yesterday too, Amy. Today, it wasn’t the case.
We had frost in our valley this morning too Mary! My Dad covered our plants since we’re doing some winter crops this year but he’s making a cold frame for them soon though.
Amy
Amy, what types of winter crops are you growing this year? I saw a photo of a cold frame a few days ago that I was interested in. It looked like window frames, folded up (higher) in the middle.
Petals in the soap sounds heavenly. 🙂
So how are ya? Sounds like things are moving right along. and I’m with you… weeding takes a backseat to most things. lol
Things are beginning to flow now, Lynnanne. I am doing great!
We are close to resuming production again in the shop. As you can probably imagine, I have been a tad bit antsy, wanting to get it up and rolling again.
I hope you are doing well. I think you said something on Facebook about your son hunting. I didn’t read if he brought something home for you. How did it go? 🙂
good to hear! i would imagine you are a bit antsy by now… it won’t be long, though…. take a deep breath and enjoy the process; it’ll be here before you know it. 🙂
still no meat in the freezer. 😦 but, it’s still early in the season, so time’s on his side. i’m going to be sending in a few hides to get tanned, and am going to make a few things from other parts and pieces… have a few leather / beading projects i’d like to start on… and, am going to try my hand at a pine needle basket. my cousin sent me yellow pine needles (abt. 10″ long) so i’m pretty excited about that. 🙂
I hope you do post a photo of your pine needle basket. It sounds interesting!
